Market guide
Accuracy, tracking and software
Keep every number attached to its method and conditionsAccuracy is not one transferable scanner score. Single-frame accuracy, precision, volumetric accuracy, resolution and the final aligned mesh describe different parts of a workflow and must retain their stated conditions.
Accuracy
Quote the whole qualified claim
MetroY Ultra currently states up to 0.015 mm single-frame accuracy and volumetric accuracy of 0.015 mm + 0.04 mm × L in meters. Those are manufacturer claims for specified conditions, not guaranteed final-part accuracy.
- Record
- Keep the mode, length formula, calibration state, markers, surface and verification method beside the number.
- Validate
- Check a known artifact across the real working volume before using scan data for a fit decision.
Tracking
Separate local detail from accumulated alignment
A sharp frame can still become a distorted full object when tracking drifts. Geometry, texture, markers and loop closure affect the assembled result.
- Markers
- Price the correct marker size, spacing, replacement supply and removal work.
- Volume
- Test the longest object and repeated surfaces, not only the supplied sample bust.
Safety
Read the exact optical classification
MetroY Ultra identifies a Class 2M laser projector and warns against direct viewing or viewing through optical instruments. A classification for one model or mode does not qualify another scanner.
- Label
- Retain the exact product label, manual warnings, mode and protective instructions.
- People
- Do not direct a scanner at eyes or scan a person unless the exact instructions permit the mode and the person has given informed consent.
