Install
Control freight, assembly and electrical work
Plan the unloading path, lift points, machine center of gravity, floor or mobile-base rating, table assembly, level, long-stock clearance and service access. Use the current nameplate and manual for voltage, current, plug, breaker and disconnect.
- Stock numbers preserve the electrical identity
- The JET JWBS-14SFX 714400K is a dual-voltage 1.75-horsepower system, while the Powermatic PM1500 1791500 is a 3-horsepower 230-volt system. Record the exact stock number before electrical work.
- Heavy mobility needs a rated plan
- The JET JWBS-15, JWBS-18 and Powermatic PM1500 are floor machines that require controlled movement and stable support. A mobile base must carry the machine and stock forces without obstructing pedals or doors.
Setup
Set the blade path with power disconnected
Inspect blade weld and teeth, tires, wheels and guards, then establish tracking, tension, side and thrust guide clearance, guidepost alignment and fence or miter reference under the exact manual. Rotate by hand before closing doors and applying power.
- Witness every intended blade class
- A narrow curve blade and wide resaw blade need different tracking, tension, guides and fence checks. Run and test scrap at conservative feed before valuable or unstable stock.
- Test braking and coast-down
- JWBS-18 and PM1500 include foot-brake systems in their retained configurations. Verify pedal access, disconnect action and stop behavior while keeping guards and hands-clear practice primary.
Handoff
Document extraction, safe work and service
Record blade inventory, tension-release routine, guide and fence baselines, dust hose and airflow, brake test, electrical details, serial, warranty, parts sources, maintenance schedule and who may adjust or use the machine.
- Guard the exposed blade closely
- Lower the adjustable guard close to the stock, support the work and use hands-clear methods and push devices where appropriate. Disconnect and isolate power before blade, wheel, guide or cabinet service.
- State the commissioning limit
- Setup can document function and observable alignment. It cannot guarantee cut accuracy, veneer thickness, feed rate, blade life, dust exposure, uptime, code compliance or a safe outcome.
