Match pressure, flow and surface
Define the useful operating point from the surface and soilA pressure washer is not chosen by the largest PSI number. The surface, coating, soil, water supply, nozzle, distance and acceptable damage risk determine the pressure and flow that can be used.

Work
Name the surface and contaminant
Record material, coating, age, condition, joints, seals, nearby openings, soil and any chemical or sanitary requirement before choosing a machine.
- Fragile areas
- Wood grain, mortar, paint, roofing, seals, bearings, electrical parts and vehicle finishes can be damaged by an unsuitable jet.
- Test
- Begin with the least aggressive compatible setup on an inconspicuous area and inspect after drying.

Output
Compare a documented operating point
Keep working pressure and flow attached to the same configuration. Separate maximum PSI and GPM labels may not occur together, and their product does not predict finish or cleaning time.
- Supply
- Confirm the water source can sustain the required inlet flow and pressure without starvation.
- Nozzle
- Orifice, spray angle, distance and wear change impact, flow and pump load.

Method
Use chemistry and dwell deliberately
A compatible detergent and controlled dwell can reduce mechanical force, but only when the equipment manual, surface guidance and chemical label permit it.

- No product specification guarantees cleaning result, production rate, surface safety or acceptable restoration.
