Commission a professional photo and fine-art printer
Verify delivery, setup, nozzle state, driver, profiles, media, viewing light and serviceCommission the printer as a repeatable production path. Inspect it before discarding freight materials, install the documented ink and software, establish a clean nozzle baseline, then produce and retain reference prints on the studio's actual media under controlled viewing light.
Receive
Inspect and place the printer safely
Match model, region, stand, basket, spindle, cutter and ink contents to the order. Photograph freight condition, serial and shock indicators, then use the required people or lifting equipment.
- Build the operating footprint
- P5370, P7570, P9370 and PRO-2600 need different front, rear and side clearances with covers, roll loading and output handling in use.
- Control power and moving hazards
- Use the specified grounded supply, keep liquids and loose clothing away, and follow lockout, cutter, cover and moving-carriage instructions. Never reach into an active printer.
Configure
Create a known software and color state
Record firmware, driver or RIP version, operating system, connection, media preset, ICC profile, rendering intent, black handling, scaling and viewing-light target.
- Start with a nozzle check
- Do not calibrate or judge color over a missing nozzle. Resolve the documented cleaning sequence first and record ink and maintenance-tank consumption.
- Keep one verified fallback
- Retain a tested direct-driver path even when a RIP runs production, and record network addresses, queues, permissions, updates and the procedure for restoring settings.
Qualify
Approve real media and output
Print neutral ramps, saturated colors, skin tones, fine detail and a known reference image on each saleable media family. Inspect dry-down, feed marks, head strikes, banding, trim and handling under controlled light.
- Create a signed reference
- Label printer, ink, paper, profile, software, date and settings on an accepted reference print so later drift can be diagnosed against evidence.
- Do not certify future output
- Commissioning does not guarantee accuracy, permanence, saleability, clog avoidance, cutter performance, uptime or reliability. Preserve maintenance, storage and revalidation routines.
