Compare portability, fence and brakes
Choose the daily ownership branch, not the largest numberRolling systems, compact carry saws, cordless tools and compact-shop machines solve different movement and support problems. Compare the complete saw, base, extraction and blade system.
Movement
Measure the route and handling method
Use complete system weight, folded dimensions, wheels, handles, stairs, gates, vehicle opening and tie-down points. A portable label does not mean one-person lift.
- Stand
- Distinguish an included rolling or folding stand from stand-compatible and tool-only SKUs.
- Shop
- A compact-shop saw trades jobsite movement for mass, table area, fence and fixed extraction potential.
Fence
Compare setup and retained alignment
Rack-and-pinion, telescoping and T-square fences have different adjustment, extension and transport behavior. Inspect locking, parallelism and scale before each critical run.
- Table
- Small tables and large rip numbers still require external stock support.
- Service
- Confirm inserts, guards, riving knives, fences, switches, batteries, cartridges and parts through a current service path.
Brake
Name the exact braking function
A skin-contact mitigation system, an ordinary motor brake and cut-completion sensing are different functions. Retain blade, material, bypass and cartridge limits.
- Kickback
- No brake, guard, riving knife or pawl prevents every kickback or contact event.
- Cost
- Price cartridges, blades, inserts, batteries, stands, extraction adapters and support fixtures with the saw.
