Capture
Choose microphones and cabling first
Microphone self-noise, sensitivity, maximum level, wind protection, placement and connector compatibility can matter more than a small recorder specification difference.

- A bodypack recorder and a wireless transmitter are different paths even when one product combines them.
- Spare
- Carry a tested independent recording path for sources that cannot be repeated.
