Market guide

Compare display panels, HDR and calibration workflows

Compare panel behavior, sustained luminance, instruments, software and signal paths

Compare displays as complete measurement and signal systems. Panel technology, backlight zones, OLED protection, instrument support, LUT path, operating system and input format all shape what can be calibrated and verified.

01

Panel

Compare tradeoffs, not labels

IPS, mini-LED and OLED designs trade black level, haloing, uniformity, viewing angle, sustained output, retention and service.

Zones can halo
Mini-LED displays such as PA32UCG-K need real subtitle, highlight and dark-room tests, not only a zone count.
OLED can limit or retain
PA32DC black behavior is valuable, while automatic brightness limiting and image-retention controls remain part of the grading boundary.
02

Calibration

Trace the correction path

Identify the instrument, spectral correction, LUT location, profile, validation method and schedule.

Supported meter lists matter
An accurate instrument can still be unsupported by the display software or mismatched to the panel spectrum.
Calibration is not validation
A completed routine must be checked with an independent patch set, target tolerances and retained report.
03

Signal

Preserve the source chain

Match GPU or video I/O, cable, format, bit depth, range, chroma, transfer metadata and operating-system color management.

SDI is a real branch
A display with SDI or clean-feed support solves a different routing problem from a USB-C design monitor.
Scaling can change the comparison
High-density desktop use depends on operating-system scaling, application rendering and interface performance, not resolution alone.
