Market guide

Match coating, tip, flow and pressure

Start from the coating technical data sheet and the required finish

A maximum tip or pressure label does not prove that a sprayer can atomize every coating through every hose. Resolve the material, required orifice, fan, filter and surface before selecting the pump.

01

Coating

Read the exact TDS and SDS

Record viscosity guidance, permitted thinning, recommended airless tip and pressure, filter, substrate preparation, temperature, humidity, recoat and ventilation conditions for the exact product.

Approval
A sprayer category label does not approve an architectural coating, elastomeric, block filler, texture, solvent or flammable material.
Change
Recheck the system whenever the coating, tint base, lot, additive or finish requirement changes.
02

Fluid path

Match tip, gun, filter and hose

The orifice and fan shape flow and finish while hose diameter and length add pressure loss. Verify the gun, guard, swivel, filter, whip and maximum supported hose as one pressure-rated path.

Wear
A worn tip increases flow and changes the pattern, so tip condition belongs in quality and safety checks.
Clean
Use only compatible flushing materials and follow the manual's pressure-relief and waste procedure.
03

Output

Keep flow and pressure claims conditional

Maximum gallons per minute and PSI do not establish finished-area throughput, transfer efficiency or finish quality. Coating, tip, pressure, hose, technique, masking and downtime remain decisive.

HEA
Lower-pressure HEA operation can reduce overspray under its setup but never eliminates overspray or exposure.
Proof
Test the complete coating system on a representative surface under comparable conditions before production.
