Install and commission a top-load washer and dryer system
Verify both model suffixes, delivery fit, water and drain, circuit and cord, outdoor duct, leveling, controls and initial test loadsCommission both appliances before the installers leave and while return rights remain. Match carton, rating plate and invoice suffixes, inspect cabinets and tubs, photograph hoses, drain, receptacles, cord and exhaust, verify leveling and restraint, then run small controlled wash and dry loads locally.

Witness exact pair and utility work
Confirm both suffixes and electric-dryer configuration, remove shipping restraints, level each cabinet, verify stable floor, lid and door clearance, sound shutoffs, approved hoses, drain insertion, grounded washer outlet, dryer circuit and correct cord.
- Inspect the complete exhaust
- Use approved metal transition duct without screws protruding into airflow, avoid crushing it behind the dryer, count elbows and confirm the outdoor flap opens. Never terminate a conventional vented dryer indoors.
- Keep water and electricity separated
- Plan leak detection and accessible shutoffs, keep cords and receptacles dry and stop after leakage, arcing, repeated trips, burning odor or abnormal heat. Qualified work is required where code or conditions demand it.
Test
Run representative small loads first
Use measured HE detergent and a balanced textile load to observe fill, turnover, drain, spin, vibration and leaks. Transfer the known wet load to the dryer and observe heat, airflow, drum, sensor termination and final dryness.
- Test each washer architecture correctly
- Insignia NS-WMT41 and Whirlpool WTW4307, WTW4950 and WTW5020 use different agitator, removable or HE branches. Follow the exact loading and fill instructions instead of forcing a preferred water level.
- Prove local controls before accounts
- Complete essential wash and timed or sensor dry locally. If a future connected pair is installed, add account ownership, permissions, updates and reset only after offline operation is documented.
Handoff
Leave maintenance and safety records
Retain model and serial photos, invoice, installer, utility and duct photos, manuals, detergent settings, lint and duct schedule, warranty, servicer and recall-check date. Label shutoffs and electrical isolation.
- Teach recurring fire and mold prevention
- Remove lint every load, keep the exhaust path clean, stop after delayed drying or abnormal heat, meter detergent, clean dispensers and tub, leave the washer open where safe and address leaks or persistent odor rather than masking them.
- Do not certify household outcomes
- A successful test load cannot guarantee cleaning, rinsing, dryness, capacity, cycle time, sanitation, water or energy savings, mold or fire prevention, durability, reliability or repair time. Recheck after installation, duct, detergent, control or load changes.
