Install, test and transfer access
Commission the exact door while return options remainA successful app setup is not a completed lock installation. Prove free mechanical travel, every local and remote access path, low-battery fallback, revocation and household handoff.
01
Install
Make the door work freely
Correct bore, backset, handing, tailpiece, spindle, strike and screw selection before calibrating the motor.
- Force
- The lock should not use motor force to hide door sag, gasket pressure or a poorly aligned strike.
- Exterior
- Respect separate exterior and interior weather limits and keep indoor electronics dry.
02
Test
Rehearse normal and failed states
Try every key, code, biometric, phone, hub and remote path, then repeat with internet off, hub off and low-battery warnings active.
- Emergency
- Practice the physical-key or jumpstart procedure from outside with the required item actually available.
- Egress
- Verify simple inside exit for every occupant without relying on a phone, network or special knowledge.
03
Handoff
Create a revocation record
Remove a test guest from the maker account and every linked platform, then confirm the old credential no longer works.
- Archive
- Save the exact model, serial, key code, template, manual, warranty and administrator inventory securely.
- Boundary
- Commissioning reduces predictable failures but cannot guarantee access, uptime, privacy or resistance to entry.
