Record material, nominal and actual size, fittings, unions, flow direction, pressure, meter, PRV, branches and the water sources that remain downstream or outside the valve.

Valve
Keep motorized ball valves, clamp-on sensors and retrofit actuators distinct.
Restriction
Check pressure drop and service flow rather than assuming an inline body is neutral.

Protect access and serviceability

Choose a dry, accessible, temperature-compliant location with room for manual operation, removal and any required bypass.
