Pipe
Draw the complete water path
Record material, nominal and actual size, fittings, unions, flow direction, pressure, meter, PRV, branches and the water sources that remain downstream or outside the valve.
- Valve
- Keep motorized ball valves, clamp-on sensors and retrofit actuators distinct.
- Restriction
- Check pressure drop and service flow rather than assuming an inline body is neutral.

Location
Protect access and serviceability
Choose a dry, accessible, temperature-compliant location with room for manual operation, removal and any required bypass.
- Freeze
- An indoor or temperature-limited device is not protected by an app freeze alert.
- Backflow
- Do not alter required backflow or cross-connection protection without qualified review.

Install
Price the complete job
Include plumber labor, fittings, isolation, pressure testing, electrical work, outlet or backup power, hub, sensors, permit and inspection.
