Map the home to the complete machine
An upright keeps the motor and head together. A lift-away moves part of that mass. A canister trails behind a hose and wand. Measure low clearance, cord and hose reach, storage, stairs and the weight actually carried.

- Bagged systems reduce direct bin emptying but need exact bags and careful seating. Bagless systems avoid bags but expose the bin and add cyclone and filter cleaning. Neither is maintenance-free.
