Choose an induction range by kitchen, circuit and cookware

Start with fit, electrical service, ventilation, cookware and real cooking workflow

An induction range begins with the kitchen, electrical panel and pans already in the home. Freeze the finished opening and delivery route, have the branch circuit checked against the exact nameplate, and map the cookware used every week before comparing boost numbers or oven modes.

Kitchen

Fit the complete chassis

Measure the finished width, depth, counter height, rear recess, floor, door swing, drawer path and hood relationship. Include the route from the exterior door to the final anti-tip position.

Thirty inches is not one fit
Frigidaire FCFI3082BS, GE Profile PHS700 and Miele HR 1422-3 I share a nominal width, but their cutouts, handle projections, control fronts and connection spaces are not interchangeable.
Wide ranges change the room
Wolf IR36551/S/P needs a 36-inch plan, heavier delivery, wider ventilation capture and specialist service access rather than a stretched 30-inch assumption.

Power

Verify the circuit from the nameplate

Have a qualified electrician match voltage, frequency, breaker, conductor, neutral, junction or receptacle, strain relief and local code to the exact range and installation method.

The breaker is not the whole circuit
Existing cable size, conductor count, terminations and receptacle condition matter. A high-amp receptacle does not prove the wiring behind it is suitable.
Boost can share available power
Two zones may divide power even when each advertises a high boost figure. Check the manual for paired zones and test the pan combinations used together.

Cookware

Map pans to real induction zones

List each pan's magnetic base, flat contact area and diameter, then place those dimensions over the exact zone and bridge geometry. Plan ventilation around the foods and heat loads actually cooked.

Magnet response is only a screen
A pan can attract a magnet yet sit poorly, heat unevenly or fall outside a model's detection range. Verify manufacturer size guidance and test important pans during the return period.
Induction changes hazards, not supervision
The glass, pans, oven, oil and steam still become hot. Follow residual-heat, anti-tip and fire instructions, and use device-specific medical guidance for a pacemaker or ICD.
