Compare induction-cooktop zones, controls and service

Compare pan detection, zone and bridge geometry, power sharing, local controls, connected features, cleaning and repair

Compare the complete installed system, not peak wattage alone. Normalize the cutout, branch circuit, cooling space and cookware, then compare detection, zone geometry, bridge behavior, shared power, physical or touch controls, account requirements, glass care and local access to power-electronics service.

Zones

Compare the pan map

Draw every zone, bridge or flexible area at scale and place the household's pans on it. Record supported minimum and maximum bases, paired-power rules, spill zones and whether controls remain reachable with large cookware.

Bridge and flexible are different promises
KitchenAid KCIT730SBL and LG CBIH3017BE define paired or bridge behavior, while Thermador CIT30YWBB uses a broader flexible concept. Each still has documented pan and power limits.
Peak power is conditional
LG CBIH3013BE and other boost-capable cooktops can redistribute output. Wattage does not guarantee boil time, temperature, simmer stability or energy savings.

Controls

Keep essential cooking local

Compare wet-finger behavior, control visibility, pan removal response, lock, timer, residual-heat indication and how each user stops a zone quickly. Separate those functions from any app or account.

Connected features add a data boundary
Record Wi-Fi, account, household permissions, telemetry, firmware, remote status and cloud continuity. A feature should be valued only after local operation is understood.
Indicators are not temperature measurements
Residual-heat lights and pan detection reduce uncertainty but do not prove the glass, pan, oil or food is at a safe temperature.

Ownership

Compare cleaning, recalls and service

Price approved cleaners, glass protection, filters or ventilation care, replacement glass, fans, sensors and power modules. Confirm warranty, labor, travel, cabinet access and exact-model recall checks.

Protect the glass without trapping heat
Clean cooled spills with approved methods and avoid impact, abrasive products and covers that block ventilation. Stop after cracks, arcing, repeated faults or abnormal odor.
Tests cannot forecast repair outcomes
Independent tests and owner reports can expose control and pan-fit questions, but different circuits, counters, cookware and service regions prevent reliability, cooking or repair guarantees.
