Install and commission the outdoor oven
Verify support, fuel, clearance, weather care, cleaning and food-temperature checksCommission the exact oven and North American fuel or electrical configuration before cooking. Reconcile the package, assemble on a stable rated surface, preserve open-air clearances and test ignition, control and monitoring without food.
Site
Approve the open-air location
Follow the exact manual for support, overhead and side clearances, cylinder position, chimney, cord routing and weather. Combustion ovens stay outdoors, never in a garage, tent, RV or enclosed porch, even when a door or window is open.
- Control carbon monoxide and fire
- Keep combustion in the required open air, clear combustibles, control sparks and cold ash, keep an appropriate fire response available and never leave the oven unattended.
- Protect people from the hot zone
- Set a working perimeter around the mouth, body, chimney, peel and fuel path. Keep children, guests and loose clothing clear and never move or cover a hot oven.
Fuel
Commission the exact connection and controls
For gas, inspect the specified hose and regulator, confirm fuel and pressure, place the cylinder correctly and leak-test as directed before ignition. For solid fuel, assemble draft and ash parts. For electric, keep the rated outdoor connection dry and protected.
- Witness shutdown
- Light and run each control, observe stable operation and complete the maker's shutdown. Know how gas, live fire or electricity will be isolated during a fault.
- Treat monitoring as assistance
- A chamber display, stone reading or probe helps observe one condition. It does not sense site carbon monoxide, automate fire management or make cooking unattended.
Handoff
Set cleaning, storage and food-safety routines
Cool the oven, stone, ash and metal fully before cleaning or storage. Dry-brush stone residue, avoid thermal shock, protect controls from weather and preserve access to igniter, burner, regulator, chimney, element and service parts.
- Verify food temperature separately
- Use food-specific safe internal-temperature guidance and a suitable thermometer. Stone, air, timer and crust color do not establish internal doneness.
- State the outcome boundary
- Commissioning cannot guarantee preheat, recovery, crust, throughput, food safety, fuel cost, reliability, service response, fire prevention or another cooking result.
