It excludes smoke and carbon-monoxide life-safety alarms, basic single-purpose thermometers or hygrometers, sensors integrated into purifiers or dehumidifiers, HVAC controls, laboratory reference analyzers, professional handheld instruments, unsupported marketplace devices, cosmetic bundles and minor connectivity variants. Optical PM estimates mass from scattered light and varies with aerosol, size distribution, humidity, inlet condition, correction and aging.
