Market guide

The room, delivery, and installation

Survey the wall, ceiling, floor, movement area, route through the home, assembly, power, and return before ordering

A home gym can fit on a product diagram and still fail in the room. Training needs movement beyond the machine footprint. Delivery needs every door, stair, turn, and floor transition. Installation needs the right wall or rack, a level protected surface, power where required, and enough access to inspect or repair the equipment later.

01

Draw the room

Mark equipment and human movement separately

Tonal recommends a seven-by-seven-foot area and a ceiling at least 7 feet 10 inches. Tempo uses a small cabinet but asks for a six-by-eight-foot workout area. G20 Pro stands 91 inches tall before the room accounts for pull-ups, plates, a bar, bench movement, or its optional stations.

Wall and ceiling
Record studs, obstructions, outlets, mirrors, doors, lights, joists, sprinklers, garage tracks, and overhead storage.
Floor
Check level, surface protection, slab or structure, anchoring, equipment weight, dropped-load plan, and moisture.
Movement
Trace each lift with the tallest and widest user, longest attachment, bench, bar, plates, and spotter position.
02

Move it inside

The delivery route belongs in the purchase

G20 Pro weighs 1,455 pounds assembled. Ares 2.0 arrives as a substantial rack-and-cable build. Tonal weighs nearly 150 pounds and requires professional installation. Measure the smallest door, stair width, landing, turn, elevator, and final room before freight arrives.

Box plan
Ask for package count, longest piece, heaviest piece, curbside or room-of-choice boundary, pallet removal, and debris handling.
Labor
Decide who carries, assembles, anchors, tests, and removes the equipment. Save the assembly instructions before delivery.
Return
A 30-day policy can still leave disassembly, repacking, freight, restocking, installation, or wall repair with the buyer.
03

Test before committing

Use the return window as a room test

Run every priority movement, every household profile, and the heaviest expected setup while a return remains possible. Inspect cable travel, attachment clearance, screen sightline, noise, floor movement, connectivity, and the time required to begin and end a session.

Digital system
Test account setup, profiles, internet recovery, load changes, safety controls, and what works without the service.
Mechanical system
Inspect hardware torque, rack stability, cable routing, pulley alignment, slack, plate clearance, and safeties.
Shared room
Restore the room after training and confirm that benches, attachments, plates, mats, and accessories have real storage.
