Market guide

Compare capacity, drainage and ownership

Treat water removal as a complete operating path

A larger compressor is useful only when the room and drainage can use it. Compare the tested capacity together with bucket handling, drain geometry, sound, energy, controls and wet-path service.

01

Capacity

Compare under the same conditions

Use standardized pints per day, operating-temperature range, defrost behavior, fan operation and actual recovery evidence.

Room
Treat manufacturer square-foot figures as bounded marketing guidance, not equivalent capacity tests.
Duty
A high-capacity unit may recover faster but can add heat, sound, draw and cycling in a mild load.
02

Drain

Choose bucket, gravity or pump deliberately

Record bucket volume and filled weight, hose diameter and slope, receptor elevation, pump lift, restart and overflow behavior.

Gravity
A hose cannot climb, trap, freeze or terminate where backed-up water returns to the appliance.
Pump
A pump adds wet parts, cleaning, power and failure modes; test the exact lift and alarm behavior.
03

Ownership

Price sound, energy and service

Compare fan settings, retained sound conditions, integrated energy factor, filter access, coil cleaning, app dependence, parts and warranty.

Controls
A humidistat or app sensor is not a building diagnostic; compare it with an independent instrument.
Boundary
Efficiency and automatic control do not cure the moisture source or guarantee lower humidity throughout a divided building.
