Market guide
Compare a real cook
Use the ordinary batch, long smoke and hot finish to expose tradeoffsGrate area, maximum temperature and food icons are weak shortcuts. A useful trial shows how evenly the cooker runs, how food fits, how the high-heat step works and how much operator time the cycle consumes.
01
Capacity
Draw the food on usable grates
Upper racks, lid clearance, hot edges and probe routes reduce headline area. One brisket can occupy space more awkwardly than many burgers.
- Layout
- Use pan and food dimensions from a real menu.
- Air
- Leave space for circulation instead of filling every square inch.
02
Temperature
Measure the grate, not only the controller
A controller sensor reads one location and can average cycles. Independent grate probes and food results reveal recovery and spread.
- Map
- Check several positions at smoking and roasting temperatures.
- Weather
- Repeat a difficult cook in expected cold or wind.
03
Finish
Name the browning method
Direct flame, a side burner, cast iron, charcoal proximity and a separate gas grill create different crust and flare behavior.
- Fat
- Test a fatty food under supervision.
- Sequence
- Time the move from low cooking to the final high heat.
