Market guide
Compare cordless-vacuum pickup, batteries, filtration and service
Compare measured pickup, loaded runtime, batteries, heads, filtration, bin emptying, maintenance, parts and ownership costNormalize the complete dry-cleaning package before comparing price. Keep floorheads, powered mini tools, battery count, charger, dock, filters, bins, bags and wall hardware attached to the exact model, then place manufacturer claims beside independent pickup, runtime, filtration and dust-release measurements.
Performance
Read pickup as a floor-head result
Compare measured hard-floor, low-pile, high-pile, crack, edge and pet-hair results with the exact head and mode. Suction, airflow and air watts describe parts of the system but cannot substitute for debris pickup at the floor.
- Head geometry changes the ranking
- Shark Stratos can perform differently on high pile than Dyson V12 Detect Slim even when the Dyson feels lighter. Roller count, inlet location, seal, brush speed and carpet resistance all matter.
- Wet and dry work remain separate
- Dyson V15s Detect Submarine adds a dedicated hard-floor wet roller, not liquid pickup through the dry motor. Its tank, tray, roller and floor-finish rules create a second maintenance and safety path.
Air and battery
Separate filtration in use from emptying exposure
Retain the test particle size, dust, flow, filter state and whether leakage was measured at joints. Then inspect what happens when the bin or dock opens, because a sealed operating path can still release a dust plume.
- HEPA language needs a method
- A named filter does not establish complete-system retention or medical benefit. Filter seating, seals, damage, washing and complete drying remain part of performance.
- Normalize runtime by mode and pack count
- Gen5outsize uses two packs and a wider head, while V12 uses a smaller pack and narrower head. Compare minutes per real route, recharge and replacement cost rather than simply adding published maxima.
Ownership
Price filters, bags, rollers and service
Build a three-year ownership list for filters, dock bags, odor cartridges, rollers, wet heads, batteries and chargers. Confirm authorized parts, warranty exclusions, repair freight and whether a local service counter exists.
- Anti-tangle is a maintenance claim
- Combs, conical tools and dual rollers can reduce wrapping under named hair tests but cannot eliminate thread, cord, tassel or bearing cleanup. Inspect every roller without exposing the battery or motor to water.
- Do not convert a review into a guarantee
- Independent tests cover one or few machines under fixed protocols and owner discussions are self-selected. Neither can guarantee cleaning, filtration, runtime, comfort, repairability, fire prevention or long-term reliability.
