Compare portability, power and mixing
Balance operating independence against output and component countBattery speakers, powered tops and integrated columns move and operate differently. Compare what one person must lift, connect, control and protect rather than treating every portable label as equal.
Transport
Count every case, pole and component
Record the heaviest lift, assembled height, carry shape, setup sequence and where components travel. A column that separates into pieces can still create a heavy base lift.
- Stands
- Use rated hardware on stable surfaces and follow the maker's approved mounting points.
- Rigging
- Do not suspend a product without explicit approved fly points, hardware and qualified rigging.
Battery
Read runtime as a conditional test
Level, program, DSP, temperature, age, USB loads and accessory power change runtime. Weather resistance also applies only under the documented rating, orientation and covers.
- Replacement
- Distinguish an ordinary user-swappable battery from a service replacement.
- Outdoor
- IP43 is not waterproof, and dry protected connectors and power remain necessary.
Mixer
Verify channel capability one input at a time
Phantom power, Hi-Z, mic sensitivity, EQ and effects can be channel specific. Bluetooth playback and app control are separate paths and are not low-latency monitored inputs.
- Fallback
- Keep critical microphone and level control usable if the app or wireless link fails.
- Mono
- State clearly when one purchase is one mono cabinet or one mono column system.
