The terms a useful comparison should define
- Cone rating
- A heatwork reference combining temperature and time, not simply a thermostat temperature
- Kiln furniture
- Shelves, posts and supports used to stack ware inside the chamber, often priced separately
- Phase
- The electrical supply format, usually single-phase in homes and sometimes three-phase in commercial buildings
