Power
Test representative loads
Compare steady endurance, low cadence, ramps, ERG transitions and sprints against a maintained reference meter while retaining smoothing and zero or calibration procedures.
- Agreement
- A plus or minus percentage is a manufacturer test claim, not universal agreement across meters or units.
- ERG
- Response can change with cadence and gearing even when average power looks close.
Movement
Separate motion from road feel
Physical incline, lateral feet, fore and aft plates, flywheel effects and powered descent are distinct features with different space and stability costs.
- Noise
- Test drivetrain, fan, floor transmission, bearings and resistance noise in the real room.
- Feel
- No motion or flywheel system guarantees outdoor handling, comfort or realism for an individual rider.
Software
Test protocols and account boundaries
Confirm ANT+, FE-C, Bluetooth, FTMS, Wi-Fi and wired paths on each controlling and recording device, including simultaneous connections and offline behavior.
- Apps
- Steering, shifting, race mode and road effects can disappear outside a specific app or subscription.
- Updates
- Record firmware and re-test critical workouts after changes rather than assuming identical behavior.
