Before buying a connected home gym, write down what survives cancellation

Get these answers in writing

• What is the initial membership commitment, and when can cancellation take effect?
• Which basic lifting controls work without membership?
• Which resistance modes, programs, coaching, and safety features stop?
• Can past workout history still be viewed, and is new data saved?
• How many household profiles remain usable?
• What still requires Wi-Fi or an active account?
• Can the hardware and account be transferred to another owner?
• Who services installed hardware after cancellation, and on what current terms?

OxeFit XS1 after cancellation

OxeFit says the XS1 requires a one-year membership commitment. After that first year, cancellation limits the machine to strength-only Freestyle Mode. Performance tracking, Advanced Training Settings, and other membership features go away, and new training data is not saved for analytics.

That is more precise than a general promise that the hardware still works. Confirm the exact XS1 modes, account access, service terms, and cancellation date in the offer you receive, because a support article is not a promise that future terms will remain unchanged.

Tonal after cancellation

Tonal also requires an initial 12-month commitment. Its current membership page says a non-member keeps Basic Lift, manual weight changes, supported handle and bar controls, and Wi-Fi access for software and firmware updates.

Guided programs, personalized weight, progress tracking, saved custom workouts, dynamic weight modes, household profiles, and most of the experience that makes Tonal feel connected are membership features. Confirm the current cancellation flow and commitment status on the machine before ending service.

Keep the comparison narrow

These are the current boundaries for two exact products, not a rule for every connected gym. They do not establish reliability, fitness outcomes, legal rights, resale support, or future service terms.

Save the dated offer, membership terms, cancellation instructions, installation scope, warranty, and service contact with the receipt. Those records matter more than a salesperson's summary if the software relationship changes later.
